The journalist who reported about married judge and prosecutor presiding over the same trial has been remanded in custody for "marking counterterrorism officials as a target."

Women's organizations shared tweets in reaction to the detention of bianet women and LGBTI+ editor Evrim Kepenek and T24 editor Sibel Yükler and requested that all detained journalists be released.

The journalists are being accused of "revealing the identity of a public official" and "marking an official as a target," their lawyer has said.

Kepenek is bianet's women and LGBTI+ rights editor. The police searched her home while her attorney was not present at the scene.

Unknown individuals cut off the cables of the station and stole equipment in recurring acts, says the chief editor of the outlet.

Delal Akyüz, Fırat Can Aslan and Sibel Yükler were apprehended during raids in the morning.

The blocked news pieces include domestic and international corruption allegations against Bilal Erdoğan and the 1998 killing of a singer, for which Burak Erdoğan stood trial.

Prof. Dr. Eser Köker criticized both the Republican People's Party and Halk TV for the deal between the two organizations and said the agreement was ethically concerning.

Dicle Müftüoğlu and Sedat Yılmaz were remanded in custody in an investigation based in Ankara.

While the formal reason for detentions and deportations is usually expired papers, the underlying reason is a shift in Turkey's policies towards Syria, says the group.
