Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun has shared a decision with the signature of rector Melih Bulu and announced that Boğaziçi University’s LGBTI Studies Candidate Club has been closed, arguing that the protests are “about it all.”

Levent Pişkin, the attorney of arrested Boğaziçi University students: “This investigation is legally null and void. I say ‘legally’ because there was no warrant for detention or seizure in the file. The work subject to the investigation is not there, either.”

Taken into custody over a picture on display in an exhibition at the South Campus as part of the ongoing protests against the appointed rector, two students of Boğaziçi University have been arrested for “degrading or inciting the public to enmity or hatred.”

According to the court verdict, mother Aynur Erzengin allegedly subjected her son to “alienation from his father.” The verdict has also indicated that what the child said was “against the natural flow of life.”

The Purple Roof Women’s Shelter Foundation has released its “Outbreak and Violence Against Women Report” for the last two months of 2020.
