'There are People Coming from Abroad, Who Can Say They Didn't Contract Coronavirus?'

Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca has shared the precautions taken against coronavirus in Turkey with the public. Koca has indicated that "the possibility of coronavirus reaching Turkey is very high."

Making a statement about the measures adopted against the new strain of coronavirus at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Health Commission, Minister of Health Koca has briefly stated the following:

"Our relation with Europe is also very intense. So is our relation with Iran... Closing the borders is important to a certain extent, but I am not that comfortable about Europe.

'The virus is highly likely in Turkey'

"Because our relation with Europe is intense. There are not countries left in the world without coronavirus cases. When I said that the epidemic was among us, my words were misinterpreted. It is highly possible that this epidemic is in Turkey, but the virus cannot yet been detected.

"I am not saying this to prepare the society for something. A large number of our people go abroad and return. Who can say that they were not infected there?

"For that reason, I have insistently said that 'the problem is global, but our struggle is national.' We need to prevent this infection. We have to take the precautions together with our people."
