In Ergenekon, Key Figures Refuse To Talk And Çömez Is not Found Yet

In the Ergenekon investigation, former Gendarmerie Commander Eruygur, one of the key suspects in the case refuse the talk, as “Cumhuriyet”s Ankara representative journalist Balbay. The authorities are still searching for Çömez, another key figure in the investigation.

Tunç Akkoç, Vice President of the Worker Party (İP) Pioneer Youth, and Barbaros Hayrettin Altıntaş, who were taken into custody for the Ergenekon investigation, have been transferred to the Hall of Justice.

The prosecutor started questioning two individuals

In the meantime, the prosecutor extended the two-day detention period to three days.

It is expected that the prosecutor will extend the detention period to four days for those who are under interrogation at the Department of Fight Against Terror.

The Ergenekon Operation started with the discovery of hand grenades during a police raid at Ümraniye in İstanbul on June 13, 2007 and the consequent arrest of ten people, including retired petty officer Oktay Yıldırım, retired major Fikret Emek and retired captain Muzaffer Tekin. (NZ)
