President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Russian Leader Vladimir Putin have spoken on the phone after 7 months.
State-run Anadolu Agency has announced based on the information acquired from the Presidential sources that the meeting went positive. The talk reportedly lasted for 45 minutes.
The Presidency in its statement expressed that the two leaders have come to a consensus on being in touch and to hold a face to face meeting.
The statement noted that normalizing the relations between the two countries was dwelled on in the meeting.
“The two leaders emphasizing their determination in reviving the bilateral relations and cooperating in fighting terror have come to a consensus on being in touch and to hold a face to face meeting”.
Erdoğan had sent another letter before
President Erdoğan had sent a letter to Russian Leader Putin, and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım had written to his counterpart Dmitry Medvedev due to "Russian Day" on June 12.
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov expressing that Erdoğan's letter was sent by protocol and there is no need to reply to such letters. (NV/TK)
