Vice Prime Minister Recep Akdağ has responded to Republican People's Party (CHP) Chair Kemal Kılçdaroğlu asking "When, where and for whom have you spent the 30 billion Dollars you have claimed to have spent for the Syrians?" addressing Erdoğan.
Regarding the 30 billion Dollars, Akdağ said that money invested to education, health care and road constructions were included in this amount and asked "Do Syrians not walk on these roads?".
Some headlines from Akdağ's statement on a TV programme where he has answered the questions are as follows:
"There are currently 3 million 266 thousand Syrian refugees in Turkey. Syrians started to come to Turkey seven years ago.
"European countries spend 40 Euros for one refugee for day.
"According to the figures of 2017, the state has spent 6,102 TL (1,300 Euro) for one citizen.
"Expenses for education, health care and road constructions are included in this. Do Syrians not walk on these roads?"
CHP Chair Kılıçdaroğlu had reminded that Erdoğan had been saying "I have spent 3 billion Dollars for Syrians" everywhere and asked:
"Most of the Syrians are poor people. If you claim at the UN (United Nations) General meeting that you have spent 30 billion Dollars, then explain it. Where did you spend these 30 billion Dollars? I don't know, the MPs don't know, the NGOs don't know. [...] Dear Erdoğan, when, where and whom have you spent the 30 billion Dollars? (EKN/DG)
