The Progressive Lawyers Association (ÇHD) İstanbul Office has announced that 119 people in total were taken into custody in Taksim, Şişli and Beşiktaş in İstanbul today (May 1).
Making a statement on 4.20 p.m., the association has stated that while 103 of the detained have still been in custody, 13 of them have been released from the Şişli Police Department.
In its statement, the ÇHD has underlined that "all citizens who used their constitutional rights should be released immediately."

DHA Agency: 127 people detained
According to the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), as of 1.49 p.m. today, 84 people in total were taken into custody.
While 28 of them were detained in Şişli, 29 of them in Beşiktaş, 22 of them in Beyoğlu, 4 of them in Kağıthane and one in Bakırköy.
At around 4.30 p.m., the Demirören News Agency (DHA) announced that 127 people in total have been taken into custody. As reported by the DHA, 55 people were detained in Beşiktaş, 38 of them in Şişli, 29 of them in Beyoğlu, 4 of them in Kağıthane and 1 person in Bakırköy. (AS/SD)
