What had happened?
United Nations Human Rights High Commissioner Zeid Raad Al Hussein in his statement on May 10 had urged Turkey to allow independent investigators to investigate into human right violations committed by security forces.
The UN also had called for the reports suggesting over 100 people, who were stuck in the basement surrounded by the security forces in Şırnak's Cizre district, were burned to death to be investigated.
In a statement issued on the official UN website on May 13, it was stated that Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs had invited them via a letter to Turkey for inspection and investigation. (AS/TK)
