A recent report released by Göç Vakfı, a migration foundation, indicated that 5285 children were hit by right abuses in Turkey in 2012 with at least 575 cases concerning right to life.
Some of the highlights from the report included:
* Right to life abuses left at least 575 children killed and 597 wounded in 2012.
* 995 children were affected by right abuses associated with protection.
* 367 children were hit by the juvenile court system.
* 102 children's access to education right was abused.
* 14 children became subject to torture and ill-treatment.
* 38 children were left unprotected against gun violence.
* 2623 children's health rights were violated during Turkey's controversial public school milk delivery project.
Diyarbakır tolls
The foundation's report also included specific statistics from Diyarbakır province, citing another report released by Diyarbakır Bar Association.
The bar association report aimed to survey children aged between 12 and 18 departing from statements released by police, general attorney and court offices in 2012.
* Violation of demonstration rights: 29 cases (on children who were forced to crime)
* Violation of "Anti-Terror" Act: 234 cases (with 2 of them on victimized children and 232 on children who were forced to crime)
* Violation of Family Preservation Act: 130 cases (with 118 of them on victimized children and 12 on children who were forced to crime)
* Sexual abuse: 337 cases (with 284 of them on victim children and 53 on children whowere forced to crime)
* Crimes against freedom: 9 cases (with 5 of them on victimized children and 4 onchildren who were forced to crime)
* Suicide: 7 cases with all on victimized children.
* Attempted suicide: 47 files (with 46 of them on victimized children and 1 on children who were forced to crime)
* Abduction: 26 files (with 20 of them on victimized children and 6 on children who were forced to crime) (YY/BM)
