A new section called “Altered States” has been introduced exclusively for this year on !f İstanbul Independent Film Festival.
The new section “Altered States” brings together prominent examples of avant-garde and experimental cinema and latest productions of masters such as Jem Cohen, Ben Rivers and Chantal Akerman.
An impressive compilation
The new section “Altered States” of the festival includes besides “The Sky Trembles and the Earth Is Afraid and the Two Eyes Are Not Brothers” directed by Ben Rivers and originated from a sentence from Paul Bowles story, “Counting” from Jem Cohen, “88:88” from Isiah Medina, “No Home Movie” from Chantal Akerman and “In Jackson Heights” from Frederick Wiseman also the production “Tekerleme (Tongue Twister)”.
The forgotten masterpiece “Tekerleme (Tongue Twister)” screening for the first time in 30 years, shows a woman in the year 1985 meandering through the streets of İstanbul five years after the military coup.
The festival will take place between February 18-28 in İstanbul, March 03-06 in Ankara and March 03-06 in İzmir.
