Turkish Statistical Institute

The Turkish Statistical Institute has announced that the economy of Turkey has grown by 1.6 percent in the third quarter of 2018. In the same period last year, the economic growth rate of the country was announced as 11.1 percent by the institute.

In 2017, 2 thousand and 56 children were sent to prison in Turkey. It is also known that around 3 thousand children have been currently behind bars and 16 thousand children have been on probation across Turkey.

The Turkish Statistical Institute has announced the inflation figures for November. While the consumer inflation has fallen by 1.44 percent in comparison with October 2018, it has increased by 21.62 percent in comparison with November 2017.

The Turkish Statistical Institute has announced the foreign trade statistics in October. The foreign trade deficit of Turkey has decreased by 93.8 percent in October 2018.

The economy of Turkey has grown by 5.2 percent in the second quarter of 2018, meeting the expectations of economists. The Turkish Statistical Institute has also revised the growth figures previously announced for 2017.

The industrial production in June 2018 has increased by 3.2 percent in comparison with the same month last year. The analysts previously expected a 4.4-percent increase.

The Turkish Statistical Institute has announced that unemployment in May 2018 has fallen by 0.5 points compared to the same month last year and become 9.7 percent. The women’s participation in labor force has increased by 0.5 points.

The Turkish Statistical Institute has announced that the unemployment rate in March 2018 has fallen by 1.6 points in comparison with the same month last year and has become 10.1 percent. The youth unemployment has been measured as 17.7 percent.

While the economy of Turkey has grown by 7.4 percent in the first quarter of 2018, the current account deficit in April 2018 has exceeded expectations.

Showing a decrease of 2.2 points compared to the same month of last year, the unemployment rate has marked 10.8 percent in January 2018.

Turkey’s November 2017 unemployment rate was recorded at 10.3 percent. Overall, unemployment figures had peaked in January 2017 with 13% but have remained below 11% for the past 8 months.

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, the unemployment rate which was 10,3% in 2015 has reached 10.9% by the end of last year. In 2016, 273,000 more people were left unemployed. Unemployment rate of women is higher than men.
