Violations of rights in Mardin Type E Closed Prison: Women are given disciplinary punishment as they refused to be counted outside their wards, one woman is banned from having visitors for 6 years, another is given solitary confinement for 210 days.

At least 143 people, including five children, were subjected to torture and 63 people were subjected to physical and psychological violence in prisons, according to the report.

3,936 Children’s Right to Life Violated in 7 Years
CHP MP Tanrıkulu has presented a report documenting the right to life violations committed against children in recent years. The report has shown that while child mortality from violence and occupational homicides has not decreased, extrajudicial executions have seen a dramatic increase in 2015 and 2016.

According to a report of the Human Rights Association, 46 women were killed by men in 2010 for reasons of "honour". 281 women and children applied to courts because of sexual harassment; 182 women and children were raped.

IHD 2009 Report: 24 Deaths in Prisons in 1 Year
According to the annual report of the Human Rights Association, 24 people have died in Turkish prisons in the last year. 11 people died of illness, 3 people committed suicide, 4 were killed. The Association received 2,640 applications in 2009, 397 because of torture and mal-treatment.
