Refugees Started to be Returned to Turkey
The first group of refugees have been brought back to Turkey within the scope of the agreement between Turkey and the EU. Anadolu Agency has reported that the 131 refugees brought to Dikili district of İzmir province from Lesbos Island of Greece are predominantly Pakistani citizens.

According to UNICEF warning that “the new agreement could push children and families to take other more dangerous routes including the central Mediterranean Sea”, the deal “does not address the pressing humanitarian needs of 19,000 refugee and migrant children stranded in Greece”.

A boat carrying refugees to Greece has sunk in Didim district of Aydın province. According to initial findings, 18 have been killed and 15 others rescued.

EU Turns down Fence between Greece and Turkey
The EU declined Greece's plan to erect a fence on the border to Turkey saying it was "unnecessary and too expensive". Assoc. Prof Danış told bianet that a fence was not the solution to the reasons of immigration. In her opinion, Greece wanted to give a message with this project.

More than 10,000 people from Syria sought refuge from the Assad government in Turkish refugee camps. Three camps were set up in Antakya. Refugees now started a hunger strike because the refugee camps are completely isolated from the outside world.
