Free journalism will end unless there is a brave struggle
In the period of April - May - June 2021, 18 journalists faced a total of 84 years in prison as defendants of “insulting the President” in Turkey. In the same period last year, the number of journalists facing this charge was six.

Press freedom in Turkey: 213 journalists stood trial in the first 4 months of 2021
According to the first Freedom of Expression and the Press Agenda report of Expression Interrupted, 20 journalists were sentenced to 57 years, 10 months in prison in total in the first four months of this year.
