In the first half of 2018, 907 workers lost their lives in occupational homicides. In June, 149 workers, six of whom were children and nine of whom were women, lost their lives.

More than 90 percent of 580 women workers were not members of a labor union and 75 percent of them were informally employed. According to the Association for Labor Health and Occupational Safety, neither the government, nor the labor unions have a policy reassuring women workers.
