OSCE and Turkish Institutions Against Internet Censorship
Miyatoviç from the OSCE urged Turkey to abide by international legal standards and lift internet access bans. An initiative of 36 Turkish organizations and institutions said the access bans are a breach of the law and called officials who failed to work out legal reforms to resign.

Media Freedom Activists Bring Lawsuit against Google Ban
Akdeniz from Bilgi University and Altıparmak from Ankara University will appeal to the ban of certain Google services imposed by the Telecommunication Communication Presidency. bianet.org publication coordinator Kürkçü criticized the restrictions which directly harm the work of bianet. The Turkish Journalists Association and Reporters without Borders condemned the ban.

Internet Censorship: Turkey "Under Surveillance" of RSF
Reporters Without Borders added Turkey and Russia to the organization's "under surveillance" list published in the latest report on 12 March. "Taboo topics" for Turkey are quoted as mainly related to Atatürk, the army, minorities and the dignity of the nation.

Access has been banned to the expatriates.com website which provides information and networking services for people constantly living abroad. The decision was taken by the Telecommunication Communication Presidency for reasons of "administrative measures".

Access Denied to LGBT Social Networking Sites
Access has been blocked to LGBT social networking sites galibe, haydigayri and shemaleturk under accusations such as prostitution, obscenity or child abuse according to law article 5651. The site administrators were no informed about the decision and spoke of a "homophobic mentality".

Objectionable Atatürk Videos Keep YouTube Inaccessible
Turkey is not one of hostile countries to the internet, but it has kept YouTube, the biggest video sharing site, inaccessible for two months because of insulting videos to Atatürk. The prosecutor says it is not enough to remove them from the Turkish database.
