According to TÜİK’s stats, inflation rate hikes by 0.15% compared to last month; 9.79% in July 2017 compared to the same month of last year in consumer prices.

Bouncing from 10.3% to 11.29%, annual inflation rate in March 2017 has hit peak since October 2008.

Increasing by 10.13%, the annual Consumer Price Index has reached double-digit for the first time since April 2012.

Central Bank President Başçı has raised 2016 inflation forecast from 6.5% to 7.5%

Vice Prime Minister, Mehmet Şimşek has announced Medium-Term Program in economy; foresaw 4.5% in growth, 7.5% in inflation in 2016.

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, the annual rise in consumer prices was 9.5 percent in January 2009.

Prices of basic goods rose by 13 percent in the last year, while rents rose by 16 percent. Lower-income and middle-class families have been most affected.
