Bill Proposal For Sick Inmates
CHP deputy Veli Ağbaba submitted a bill proposal enabling sick inmates to be released without an official admission by Forensics Institute. The aforementioned bill also removes the expression “those who are considered not to pose a public security threat”.

PKK Denies Involvement in Deadly Blast in Gaziantep
The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) denied it had any involvement in Monday’s deadly blast in the southeastern province of Gaziantep that killed nine people and injured 69. The Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) and human rights organizations also condemned the incident.

178 Deaths Mark the First Half of 2012 in the East
Some 15,109 rights violations took place in eastern Turkey during the first half of 2012, according to a report by the Human Rights Association (IHD.) A total of 56 security personnel and 122 militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) also lost their lives during the same period.

Colonel Cemal Temizöz, former Kayseri Provincial Gendarmerie Regiment Commander, was brought to the Diyarbakır D Type Prison. He is tried for alleged kidnapping and killing 20 people with torture in Cizre between 1993 and 1995.

IHD 2009 Report: 24 Deaths in Prisons in 1 Year
According to the annual report of the Human Rights Association, 24 people have died in Turkish prisons in the last year. 11 people died of illness, 3 people committed suicide, 4 were killed. The Association received 2,640 applications in 2009, 397 because of torture and mal-treatment.

In the 1990s thousands of people in Turkey have disappeared or were murdered. Many cases have still not been solved, and perpetrators have not been brought to justice. With the "Project on Unsolved Disappearances" human rights defenders claim to give the relatives at least a place to moarn.
