2,688 forest fires broke out in Turkey in 2019
A forest land of 11,000 hectares was razed by fires in Turkey last year. According to the data of the Directorate General of Forestry, the cause of half of these fires is unknown while 33 percent of the started as a result of negligence.

Sixth Attack on Alevi Place of Worship
An Alevi worship place in Izmir was attacked for the sixth time. A fire broke out which, according to the police, was caused by playing children. Ali Balkız, Head of the Alevi Bektashi Federation, said it was an attack by the "followers of sharia".
