Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation against main opposition CHP Group Deputy Chairs Özgür Özel and Engin Özkoç over their statements about the estate rented by Presidential Communications Director Altun.

Presidential Communications Director Altun has filed a complaint against journalist-writer Ragıp Zarakolu and Arti Media over his article “There is no escape from ill fortune.” Zarakolu has noted that “he has struggled against coups all through his life.”

Facing a terror investigation due to the news regarding the house of Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, journalists Hazal Ocak, Vedat Arık, Olcay Büyüktaş and İpek Özbey from daily Cumhuriyet have been summoned to depose.

Main opposition CHP İstanbul Chair Canan Kaftancıoğlu has been summoned to depose as part of the investigation launched against her in relation with the photographing of Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun’s house.

It is reported that a “terror” investigation has been launched against media outlets that used address and photo while reporting the İstanbul Municipality’s demolition of illegal construction carried out by Presidential Communications Director Altun.

Making a statement on deported journalist Boersma, Presidency Director of Communications Altun has said, “The Netherlands told Turkey that she had links to Jabhat al-Nusra.” The country has answered that they made no request for extradition."
