"Faux News Part of Psychological Warfare Against the Kudish Rebels?"
Turkish state channel TRT claimed that the head of Kurdish rebels, Murat Karayılan had been arrested in Iran. The news had been falsified. BDP co-chair Demirtaş condemns the incident.

Ağrı KCK Trial: Prison Sentences of almost 92 Years
Eleven people who stood trial in the scope of the KCK case in Ağrı were sentenced to imprisonment of 91 years and eleven months in total. The court did not hear their defence speeches because the defendants requested to speak Kurdish at the hearing.

35 People in Custody, Tens of Thousands of People Protest
35 people were taken into custody in an operation regarding the investigation into the Union of Kurdistan Communities (KCK). About 20,000 people took the street for a protest march from Hakkari to Van. They continued the demonstration in a sit-down protest.

The BDP provincial co-chair is among 8 people arrested in Urfa on 5 October. Lawyer Benek stated the arrests were based on insignificant wiretapped telephone conversations. BDP MP Bininci said his party is being "terrorized".

54 Pro-Kurdish Mayors Acquitted of "Propaganda" Charges
The Diyabakır 5th High Criminal Court acquitted the 54 mayors who were tried for calling the militant PKK the "Kurdish opposition". The mayors had been facing prison sentences but the court followed the final plead of the prosecution.

Co-Presidents Demirtas and Kisanak, who made a statement following the BDP meeting, said: “We call on the state, the government and the PKK to silence the weapons, so that the way for negotiations may be cleared.” BDP also called on the media to use a language of peace.

3 Journalists Attacked in 2 BDP Demonstrations
A plainclothes police officer allegedly provoked an assault on journalists Eskin and Kaplan when they were covering a demonstration in Istanbul. Journalist İş was attacked by a plainclothes police officer in the province of Mardin when he followed another protest action.

An Ankara Court decided once more to bring BDP Istanbul MP Tuncel to court by compulsion. Siirt Mayor Sadak was sentenced to imprisonment of 10 months in a single session because of pictures the 2010 calendar. DTK Co-Chair Dicle faces prison sentence of up to 20 years.
