Journalist Tuğrul Eryılmaz, one of the editors of the Editors-in-Chief on Watch campaign of the now-closed Özgür Gündem has been sentenced to 15 months in prison and fined 6,000 TL. Court deferred his prison sentence.

Loup Bureau, a journalist from France who was taken into custody at Habur Border Gate and was later arrested on the charge of “aiding and abetting a terrorist organization”,has now been released. RSF Turkey Representative Önderoğlu commenting on Bureau’s release said: “it is relieving”.
