Sevag Balıkçı was Shot By Mistake, Court Rules
A Diyarbakır military court found Kıvanç Ağaoğlu guilty of felony murder of Sevag Balıkçı, a Turkish Armenian who was shot dead under compulsory military service on April 24, 2011 - 96th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

"97th Anniversary of Genocide and the Tradition of Unsolved Murders”
At the 97th anniversary of Armenian Genocide, a commemoration event organized at Taksim Square. It was stated that leading 250 Armenian people were sent to a road of no return and it was a way of silencing them all.

A Letter to Etchmiadzin and Cilicia Catholicos
The defenders of human rights sent a letter to Etchmiadzin and Cilicia Catholicos and declared that “Only after the recognition of the Genocide and the restitution of and/or compensation for the confiscated property of Armenians, that justice can be established.”

According to the EU states' Joint Framework Decision on the denial of genocide, the denial of the Armenian genocide can be considered a crime in 26 countries. French President Sarkozy wants the decision to be valid in the whole EU.

The Ministry of Justice did not issue permission for a trial against Armenian Agos newspaper owner Seropyan and chief editor Arat Dink. The case had initially been filed against assassinated Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink for recognizing the "Armenian Genocide".

Quiet Commemoration 95 Years after Armenian Deportation
"This pain is our pain, his mourning is the mourning of all of us" was written on the banner on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the deportation of Armenians. More than 500 people gathered around the banner in Taksim/Istanbul for a silent commemoration.

Turkish NGOs: "PM Erdoğan Incites Hatred"
Prime Minister Erdoğan was harshly criticized in his own country for saying to expel 100,000 illegal Armenian immigrants from the country. More than 30 NGOs condemned the PM's reaction to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide in 1915 by the Swedish parliament.
