‘The Moment Remains’ screened as the opening film of a NY festival

"The Moment Remains" (An Kalır), a documentary film telling the story of Zeynep Tanbay Dance Project in İstanbul in 2006-2012, was screened as the opening film at the 50th Dance on Camera Festival in New York.

"The Moment Remains" made its debut in Turkey at the 58th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. It documents the sense of the streets filled with pursuits of justice in the choreographies of Zeynep Tanbay, the founder of the dance project, a dancer, choreographer and activist.

Featuring the hopes, memories and worries of dancers as well, "The Moment Remains" is introduced to its audience in following words:

This is the story of a dance choreography based on feelings of "unease, anxiety, uncertainty, and obscurity."
it is about being stuck between the memory of migration and a misty view of the future;
...or, about the struggle of a group of dancers to collectively produce despite the prevailing "darkness."
This is a story about the memory of those "moments that remain".

Directed by Ebru Şeremetli, with Enis Rıza its advisor and Nalân Sakızlı the producer, "The Moment Remains", the latest documentary of VTR Productions, was screened on February 11 as the opening film of the festival which was held in New York, US on February 11-14.

"The Moment Remains" tells the story of how Zeynep Tanbay abstracts her perspective on life and thoughts through dance. She says, "Dance with happiness; I mean, whatever you do, do it with happiness. The only thing that will remain will be that moment you remember. Let it be a happy one." (AÖ/SD)
