TAK, an armed wing of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, assumed responsibility for the explosion of a minibus in Ankara on 20 September. Three people died in the blast.

TAK Assumed Responsibility for Ankara Blast

The Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (TAK), a wing of the militant outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), claimed responsibility for the bomb attack in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Tuesday (20 September). The explosion left three people dead and 34 people wounded.

According to the Fırat News Agency (ANF), TAK announced that the attack in Ankara was just the "beginning". The terrorist group also assumed responsibility for assaults in Eskişehir and Antalya.

TAK voiced the threat that any place might become a target of their attacks. "The AKP government [ruling Justice and Development Party] replied to our efforts for peace with extermination and war and pushed us to a point of no return. From now on, the only person responsible for any war developing and people being lost is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan", TAK declared

The People's Defence Forces (HPG), another armed off-shoot of the PKK, had declined responsibility for the Ankara blast on Thursday (21 September). (NV/VK)
