President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has spoken at 19th mukhtar (village headperson) meeting.
Erdoğan continuing to tease the academics signing the declaration titled “We will not be a party to this crime” said the academics support Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and added that they will “pay for it”.
Erdoğan said referring to academics “lumpen”, “half-portion intellectual”, and “crappy so-called”.

“Lumpen circles”
“There is no old Turkey anymore where a handful of lumpen calling themselves intellectual, academics rule. Half-portion enlightenment, same circles have never changed.
“These lumpen circles once again have showed their true faces. They ripped off their mask. They have directly showed the terror propaganda they have been conducting indirectly for years by means of the declaration.
“They can struggle as much as they want. There is no old Turkey anymore where those self-proclaimed wise, calling themselves intellectual, academic used to rule”.
“What you call an academic…”
“What you call an academic talks with his/her products, studies. This group has no reputation on international level.
“I want to ask those supporting the academics: Do you favor unity of Turkey or not? Firstly, answer this question honestly”.
“Why do you speak in PKK jargon?”
“If you favor unity of the country, why do you speak in jargon of the terror organization that makes our citizens’ lives miserable, attack on our security forces?
“If you know the nature of the declaration you signed, then this is a disaster, if you willingly sign it, it is another disaster.
“This is terror propaganda. If you are academics, it must be you who knows it best”.
“In the upcoming period, neither separatist terror organization, nor the parties and other structures in the organization’s guidance will never be taken as interlocutor.
“I clearly say that I loathe this mindset which gives a political or an academic in his own opinion fatwa on terror organization’s attacking on public officials, and comments ‘it is better if they don’t’ regarding civilian killings”.
“Supporters too will pay a price”
“Both the ones holding the gun and their supporters will pay the price of this betrayal. Compassionate arms of our state and nation open to those involved in these acts but express their regret.
“I call for the youngsters in the terror organization: come and turn back from this mistake while you can”.
“You are merciless”
“Our fight is not against our Kurdish brothers and sisters, our fight is against terror and terrorists.
“We see that those on the mountains and crappy so-called academics, say we kill our Kurdish brothers and sisters. They say ‘The state slaughters Kurds’. How merciless you are”. (EKN/TK)
