Operation Euphrates Shield Ended, Declares National Security Council

The National Security Council (MGK) has made a statement following the meeting held at Presidential Palace under the presidency of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The statement said the Operation Euphrates Shield has been ended. 71 soldiers lost their lives in the operation that lasted seven months.

71 Turkish army soldiers killed

Operation Euphrates Shield, launched on August 24, 2016, started to march towards al-Bab at the beginning of December. The operation’s base is currently 35 kilometers from Turkish border.
