Nearly one in four young people in Turkey is neither working nor studying

The Turkish Statistical Institution (TurkStat) has released its second quarterly report on labor force statistics in Turkey.

Accordingly, 23.5 percent of the people in the 15-24 age group in the country, which amounts to 2.8 million people, are neither working nor studying.

Seasonally adjusted youth unemployment rate in the same age group was 23.2 percent, down by 1.5 percentage point from the previous quarter. Seasonally adjusted labour force participation rate in this age group was 42.1 percent, decreasing 1.3 percentage points from the previous quarter. (HA/VK)
