'It will be a feast for us when the appointed rector leaves office'

Appointed as a rector to Boğaziçi University by President and ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prof. Melih Bulu sent academics a message for the Ramadan Feast today (May 13).

He said, "I say happy Eid al-Fitr and wish you health and happiness." 

Protesting the appointment of Melih Bulu for over four months now, the academics have not accepted the message and reiterated their demand for his resignation. The students and alumni of the university have also expressed their support for the academics' remarks.
