Armed groups in northern Syria celebrate Erdoğan's re-election

Syrian factions based in northern parts of the country, under the control of Turkey, have celebrated the reelection of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after yesterday's runoff vote.
Mutasim Abbas, the leader of the Mu'tasim Division, shared a photo on his Twitter account capturing the moment he cast his vote. Alongside the image, he wrote, "We stand with you, Mr. President [Recep Tayyip Erdogan], in both times of peace and war."
Mustafa Sajari, the political leader of the organization, also congratulated Erdogan, stating, "President Erdogan's victory is a victory for all of us."
The Mu'tasim Division is a part of the Turkey-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), formerly known as the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
Furthermore, militants affiliated with the Mu'tasim Division celebrated Erdogan's election win by distributing sweets in the areas they control in northern Syria.
Since 2016, Turkey has conducted four cross-border operations in Syria and, in cooperation with supported groups, has established control over some regions in the northwest of the country.
