All events, demonstrations banned in Dersim for 15 days

All events and demonstrations have been banned once again in Turkey's eastern province of Dersim.

The Governor's Office of Tunceli has announced that the ban will enter into force on October 25 at 12.01 am and continue till 11.59 pm on November 8.

The following events to be held outdoors have been banned in Dersim for 15 days: "Meetings and protest marches, rallies, public meetings, protest demonstrations, sit-in protests, hunger strikes, opening stands, petitions, concerts, festivals, distributing leaflets and handouts, opening posters, lighting and carrying torches, conferences, panels, cinevisions."

The ban to be in effect all across the province "due to COVID-19" pandemic has been imposed as per the Articles 17 and 19 of the Law no. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations, the Articles 11/A and 11/C of the Law no. 5442 on Provincial Administration, the provisions of the Law no. 1593 on Public Health and the decisions taken by the Provincial Public Health Board.

All types of press statements where people gather in groups shall take place on the condition that the local authorities give permission, according to the statement, which has added that only the events and demonstrations approved by the governor's office and sub-governors offices can take place in the event of notification 48 hours before the events.
