Academic Can Candan elected to university association’s honor board

The General Assembly meeting of the University Faculty Members Association (ÜNİVDER) was held on September 11. Afterwards, the new executive board of the association has been determined.

Founded by a group of faculty members, predominantly from the İstanbul University, in 1989, the ÜNİVDER's 15th-term (2021-2023) executive board also has academics of Boğaziçi University who have been struggling against appointed rectors since January 2, 2021.

Boğaziçi University academics Assoc. Prof. Erol Köroğlu from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Prof. Fikret Adaman from the Department of Economics and Assoc. Prof. Zeynep Kadirbeyoğlu from the Department of Political Science and International Relations have been elected as full members while Prof. Ali Kerem Saysel from the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Prof. Aybek Korugan from the Department of Industrial Engineering have been elected as reserve members.

Assoc. Prof. Murat Koyuncu from the Department of Economics has also become a permanent member of the Supervisory Board.

Academic and documentary filmmaker Can Candan, who was dismissed from Boğaziçi University by Naci İnci on July 16, when he was still an acting rector, has been elected to the honor board (extended executive board).

Another Boğaziçi University academic elected as an honor board member is Prof. Fadime Gök from Educational Sciences.
