14-year-old Syrian child worker stabbed to death

Living in Turkey's Central Anatolian province of Konya, Syrian child worker Vail el-Mansur (14) lost his life in an argument.

As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), Vail and his elder brother Abdurrahim el-Mansur (16) were on their way to the workplace where they were working together. When they got off the tram, they came across a group of people from the neighborhood where they live.

They first argued about an issue, then, it turned into a fight. El-Mansur was stabbed in his back by unidentified person or persons from the other group.

Paramedic teams came to the scene of the incident after the people who saw the incident called an ambulance. The child was taken to a private hospital; however, he could not be saved despite all efforts.

Based on the statement of Abdurrahim el-Mansur, who survived the incident without any wounds, the suspects who had fled the scene of the incident were identified; security teams are now searching for them.

The Umut (Hope) Foundation previously warned adults about the guns left in plain sight and the resultant unfortunate incidents. "While playing with easily accessible guns, children kill either themselves or their siblings and friend," the Foundation warned. (AÖ/SD)
