11-Month-Old Baby, His Mother Lose Their Lives in Attack in Hakkari

A military ceremony has been held at Otluca Mountain Commando Brigade Commandership for Nurcan Karakaya (25) and her 11-month-old son Mustafa Bedirhan Karakaya, have lost their lives by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK9 detonating the explosive planted on the road in Yüksekova, Hakkari.

An operation has been launched following the attack.

The baby lost his life in the hospital

As the vehicle with Nurcan Karakay and her son Mustafa Karakaya was returning from visit to Staff Sergeant Serkan Karakaya, an explosive occurred at around 4 p.m.

Nurcan Karakay lost her life at the scene, her son Karakaya was seriously injured.

Mustafa Bedirhan Karakaya lost his life in Yüksekova State Hospital where he was receiving treatment. (AS/TK)
