Defendants have testified without arrest on Monday at the 15th hearing of Soma trial relating to the mining disaster in western Turkey in May 2014 which left 301 miners dead.

32-year-old Captain Ali Alkan killed in the attack at gendarmerie station has been buried in Osmaniye province. In the funeral ceremony, Alkan’s elder brother Lieutenant Colonel, Mehmet Alkan, reacted against Justice and Development Party (AKP) members: “Why do those favoring resolution [process] now advocate fighting?”
