Commenting on attorney and LGBTI activist Levent Pişkin being taken into custody, İstanbul LGBTI+ Pride Week Committee has described the incident as an “ illegal practice of investigation and detention [which] is a deliberate violation of the right to defense and to fair trial” and noted that they would be following the trial.

The verdict has been rendered in the trial of 12 year-old Nihat Kazan’s murder by police in Cizre. The police was first sentenced to aggravated lifetime imprisonment and the sentence was then abated to 13 years and 4 months. The family and attorneys will challenge the decision.
