The first hearing in the trial of academic Gülmen and teacher Özakça who have been on a hunger strike for 189 days after being dismissed from their positions through a statutory decree, will be held tomorrow. Solidarity and call for support to the trial continue on social media.

A village guard has lost his life in an attack carried out by members of PKK in Şemdinli district of of Hakkari. One soldier and two other village guards were injured in the attack.

At end of the second hearing in the Cumhuriyet trial yesterday, the court ruled that Murat Sabuncu, Akın Atalay, Kadri Gürsel, Ahmet Şık, Emre İper Ahmet Kemal Aydoğdu remain in detention on remand. The next hearing will be on September 25.

2nd hearing in Cumhuriyet trial was held today in Silivri Court. The court heard former editor-in-chief Yıldız, news coordinator Küçükkaya, Cumhuriyet Foundation’s former executives Tüfekçioğlu, İnal and Kıraç, correspondent İlknur, columnist Soner and former public accountant Pamukoğlu as witnesses in today’s hearing.
