US Vice President Pence and White House Spokesperson Sanders have denounced Turkey surtaxing some US products.

White House Security Adviser Bolton and Ambassador to Washington Kılıç have held a meeting. Reporting the meeting, Bloomberg correspondent has said, “Fed up with Turkey, Trump is refusing to offer anything else in exchange for Pastor Brunson”.

President Erdoğan says Turkey will boycott US's electronic products and those who invest in foreign currency "will bankrupt".

The attorney of Pastor Andrew Craig Brunson has appealed to a higher court, requesting that Brunson be released from house arrest and his international travel ban be lifted.

US President Trump has tweeted, “I have just authorized a doubling of Tariffs on Steel and Aluminum with respect to Turkey as their currency, the Turkish Lira, slides rapidly downward against our very strong Dollar”.

US State Department Spokesperson Nauert has touched upon the bilateral meeting held with delegation from Turkey and said that they will “define progress as Pastor Brunson being brought home”.

President Erdoğan has said, “Everything is going to be all right, markets will ease within reasonable time. Don’t be afraid, it will all pass. Both private sector and our citizens know what comes from where”. Dollar is 5.43, Euro is 6.31 TL.

Initial statement has come from Turkey after US sanctions on Iran entering into force and Trump’s statement that “Anyone doing business with Iran will not do business with the US”.

After the US has announced its decision to impose sanctions on Turkey, the first face-to-face meeting between the countries has been held by the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. Pompeo and Çavuşoğlu have defined their meeting as “constructive.”

Speaking on behalf of the İYİ Party, spokesperson Çıray has declared that they support the AKP concerning the US sanctions. CHP Leader Kılıçdaroğlu has said, “We should take the same decision against the two ministers of the US”.

Minister of Justice Gül has said, “I don’t have a single tick or a cent in any country”. Minister of Interior Soylu has retorted.

After the US has announced its decision to impose sanctions on Turkey, the exchange rate of US Dollar has become 5 Turkish Lira.

The US has decided to impose sanctions in the wake of Pastor Brunson not being released. Minister of Justice Gül and Minister of Interior Soylu are mentioned in the sanction.

Speaking about the tension between Turkey and the US about Pastor Brunson, President Erdoğan has said, “It’s not possible for us to accept such threatening language”.

Lawyer of Pastor Brunson has objected to decision of house arrest of Pastor Brunson, which has caused a crisis between the US and Turkey. FM Çavuşoğlu and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will reportedly meet.

Concerning detainment of US Pastor Brunson, after US President Trump, the Vice President Pence has also mentioned possible sanctions: “We’re ready to impose sanctions on Turkey until Pastor Andrew Brunson Craig is released”.

Washington Post has reported that Trump requested citizen of Turkey Ebru Özkan from Israel for Pastor Brunson to be released. Israeli newspaper Haaretz has confirmed the report.

US President Trump has said that the US will impose large sanctions on Turkey for long time detainment of Pastor Brunson. US Senate also passed the bill that limits Turkey getting loan from international financial institutions last week

The US Senate and House of Representatives have reached an agreement on the law draft relating to the defense expenditures in 2019 despite the objections of the US Secretary of Defense James Mattis. Accordingly, the US Congress has temporarily stopped the delivery of F-35 jets to Turkey.

Six US senators have submitted a bill at US Senate for Turkey to be imposed financial limitation except humanitarian aid until “Turkey end unjust detention of US citizens”.
