After Turkey issued a new Navtex alert for its Oruç Reis seismic research vessel yesterday, EU’s Josep Borell has urged Turkey to “not engage in negative behaviour” while Germany’s Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has cancelled his scheduled visit to Turkey.

"We note with extreme concern the reports of continued military activities, including against civilian targets, as well as civilian casualties," EU's Borrell has said.

The vessel's activities of seismic research and exploration in the region were suspended shortly before the EU leaders summit at the start of October.
