Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has announced that a tripartite meeting with Ukraine and Russia will be held at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum later this week.

Turkey has evacuated more than half of its citizens living in Ukraine, according to Minister Çavuşoğlu.

While the details of the phone call which lasted for around one and a half hours have not been shared with the public, the Presidential Spokesperson of Turkey Kalın had said that Erdoğan would recommend a ceasefire to Russia’s President Putin.

Late yesterday, Russia and Ukraine announced they reached an understanding to create humanitarian corridors for evacuation of civilians and for food and medicine deliveries.

A vast majority of the public thinks Turkey will be negatively affected by the war.

While Ankara has opposed Russia's invasion of Ukraine and called for a ceasefire, it does not have to pick a side in the war and wants to maintain good relations with both countries, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu has said.

"It's never too late to engage in good faith negotiations and progress (on) all issues peacefully," the president has said.

Turkey should not be a party to the "dangerous polarization and conflict that could ignite the third world war," according to the alliance led by the HDP.

The flag carrier will not operate flights to and from Ukraine and Moldova until March 15.

Five groups have criticized the media for promoting warmongering and disregarding the lives of civilians.

In a statement about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the DİB says, “We, once again, face a war fought for imperialist interests to dominate energy and oil sources. Just as we are against the invasion of Iraq, Yemen, Syria, we are against the invasion of Ukraine.”

Citizens of Ukraine have protested Russia's invasion of their country in Turkey's capital. Ukraine's ambassador to Turkey gave a speech at the demonstration.

"We knew this would happen. Maybe we weren't expecting such a big, evil and violent attack, but we knew Putin would not stop," says Iryna Demiroğlu, the head of the Bodrum Ukrainians Association.

Two senior government officials, the foreign minister and the presidential spokesperson, have defined Russia's invasion as a "war" and said Ankara will act accordingly. Meanwhile, protests against the invasion continue across Turkey, both by citizens of Ukraine and locals.

What steps should be taken against Russia's incursion into Ukraine will be discussed in today's virtual NATO summit, the president has said.

"War is not just about maps and explosion footage. War is death, migration, starvation, torture and oppression," the İHD and the TİHV have said in a joint statement.

The invasion of Ukraine by Russia is protested in front of Russia’s embassies and consulates all across the world, including İstanbul.

Agreements have been made with bus companies in Ukraine in case of evacuation by land and Poland, Moldova and Romania will not require visas from citizens of Turkey, the foreign minister has said.

“We closely witnessed the oppression against LGBTI+s in the regions in the grip of Russia, who is the builder and the operator of hostile policies towards LGBTI+s,” says the Kaos GL association amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
