Retired General Veli Küçük, number one suspect in the Ergenekon case, claims there were no unsolved murders at the place to which he was assigned while he was commissioned. He also claimed the discourse of JİTEM is an attack on the Armed Forces.

It seems the Constitutional Court tried not to close the Justice and the Development Party (AKP) by concentrating on the extenuating circumstances. The simple conclusion is that the positive steps taken by the AKP for the European Union and the human rights saved it from closing.

The problem of the lack of space is solved in the Ergenekon case. The court approves the motion by the daily Cumhuriyet to join the case, but rejects a similar motion by the Democratic Society Party.

The General Staff announced that the photographs published in daily Taraf in connection with PKK’s Aktütün assault did not belong to the assault area. Taraf had claimed they had showed that the assault was known ahead of time.

The 16 Ergenekon suspects, among them retired general Veli Küçük, Susurluk convict Sami Hoştan and lawyer Kemal Kerinçsiz, have been transferred to Silivri prison for the first hearing of the Ergenekon case.

Çankaya University has terminated Constitutional Court Rapporteur Osman Can’s job as a lecturer without giving any reasons. Osman Can had opposed closing of the Justice and Development Party and demanded removal of article 301 of the Turkish Penal Code.
