Members of European Parliament from various parties and political groups have addressed an open letter to President Erdoğan: “We urge you to end repression against members of the HDP and CHP and accept the results of local elections”.

Making a statement for the press about the request for his discharge from the ruling AKP, former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has stated, “The AK Party no longer has the opportunity to be a remedy for the problems of our country.”

Releasing a statement about the attack in Diyarbakır, HDP Co-Chairs have stated, “We demand that the authorities find the responsible. The detention of our district chair is the first indication that they are after a perception operation, not a serious investigation.”

Charged with insulting the President for making an “acrostic defense” in the hearing of the case filed on the same charge, journalist Barış İnce has been sentenced to 11 months, 20 days in prison. The announcement of the verdict has been deferred.

The court has announced its ruling in the lawsuit filed against journalist Uğur Dündar for having insulted AKP’s Binali Yıldırım: His prison sentence of 11 months, 20 days has been converted into reading a book for two hours a week.
