Three times as many men as women work in Turkey's local media
According to the survey of the Media Studies Association, 4,996 people work in 1,222 local media outlets across Turkey. The survey has found that the number of reporters/ camera operators actively reporting news and women workers is highly low.

The Radio and Television Supreme Council has fined Halk TV over its broadcast on Turkey Youth Foundation and upon the complaint of the Press Advertisement Institution. Calling the foundation “parallel structure” violates the law, according to the RTÜK.

Upon the criminal complaint of Burdur Provincial Gendarmerie Command, an access block has been imposed on two news reports and one article published by Evrensel Newspaper 5-6 years ago. The daily will appeal against the block.
