Older people have been subjected to discriminatory messages on social media and attacks on the streets for not abiding by the curfew due to the coronavirus outbreak.

While the number of confirmed coronavirus cases has climbed to 1,872 in Turkey as of yesterday, the death toll has hit 44. Turkey’s struggle against the virus started on January 6, when an operation center was established.

Seven people have died and 343 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 since yesterday.
