The Kırmızı Şemsiye’s (Red Umbrella’s) database processed a total of 267 cases of rights violations directed at trans people in the last year. 98% of trans people say they have experienced discrimination during the hiring process, and 68% while seeking medical treatment.

Trans woman T.Ü. who had lost her identity card has found out that she has cancer but she cannot get treatment. She has become stuck between the security department and the registry office to get a new card. Unable to leave her house, she has been told to “Go to Samsun”.

Çilem Doğan Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison
The court has by a majority vote passed the sentence on the case of Çilem Doğan put on trial for killing her husband inflicting violence on her. The chief judge has noted that Doğan had acted in self defence and put the annotation on the verdict that she should thus be acquitted.
