"We Need Specially Authorized Prosecutors”
Malatya Chief Public Prosecutor Muzaffer Aydın demanded 6 prosecutors including 2 specially authorized ones from High Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HCJP) due to workload.
Currently, there's a special authority court, a public prosecutor, four specially authorized prosecutors at the Chief Public Prosecutor Office.
Malatya Specially Authorized Chief Public Prosecutor and Malatya Special Authority Court are in charge of the files in the scope of the specially authorized prosecution in Çorum, Sivas, Dersim.
"Singing folk songs", "wearing a keffiyeh (puşi)", "attending to May 1 and March 8 meetings", "distributing ashure" (Ashure is a Turkish dessert made in large quantities and distributed to friends without regard to the recipient's religion or belief system as an offering of peace and love), "buying tickets" are among the criminal offenses underlined in the indictments.
Mininum 8 years of Imprisonment to "University students"
According to the news, currently, there are 1500 files waiting at the prosecution office. Most of the files are in the scope of the Anti-Terror Law.
Attending to press releases and meetings, commemorations are among the crime offenses...
For instance, according to the indictment executed by Malatya Specially Authorized Chief Public Prosecutor Ömer Tetik, attending to March 8 International Working Women's Day Marches and its press statement is also a crime offense.
Attending to May 1 protests, Mahir Çayan and İbrahim Kaypakkaya commemorations and buying tickets for the concerts of Group Yorum are also among the crime offenses.
The university students were charged with "being a member of a terrorist organization" under article 314/2 of the Turkish Penal Code and "propaganda on behalf of a terrorist organization" under article 7/2 of Anti-Terror Law and Kubilay Uçucu was sentenced to imprisonment of 10 years, 10 months, Erkin Kocaman 11 years 10 months, Yusuf Yılmaz and Uğur Pektaş 9 years 2 months, Ayça Kılınç 8 years 9 months, Sevcan Göktaş 13 years.
Hatice Harman was on trial being accused of "attending March 8 protests by carrying her daughter's photograph who died on hunger strike". Harman released after the hearing held on February, 1.

At the indictment executed by Malatya Specially Authorized Prosecutor Mehmet Badem, red keffiyeh and books are also taken as evidence of crime.
University students were charged with "Attending May 1 protests at Taksim", "distributing ashure" and "attending to a press statement for free education"
Result: Candaş Kat: 13 years 4 months, Çağdaş Aktepe: 9 years, Düzgün Karal: 13 years 4 months, Hüriye Göze: 8 years 4 months, Sevda Kurban: 10 years of imprisonment. Hence, five students were sentenced to 54 years of imprisonment in total.
KCK trials at Malatya Special Authority Court.
Following the Union of Communities in Kurdistan (KCK) operations in Dersim, 6 people who stand on trial at Malatya Special Authority Court were arrested on May 3.
Arrested Ali Kamer Yıldırım and Zeki Yıldırım wee members of Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) and works at Dersim Municipality, Zarife Taşyıldız, Zülfü Yıldırım, Ayhan Çelik and Necla Kılıç were also BDP Dersim council members.
"Have you attended March 8 protests?" was also among the investigation questions of the prosecutor.
Making propaganda by Folk Songs
A lawsuit brought against musician Pınar Aydınlar and a music group (Grup Munzur) members Özlem Gerçek and Ercan Duman by "making propaganda on behalf of a terrorist organization" as they sang some folk songs at a festival in Dersim.
The court files of Zirve Publishing House massacre, Colonel Kazım Çillioğlu and Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, and many unidentified murder files are also among those 1500 files in scope of Malatya Chief Public Prosecutor Office (AS)
