State-run AA: Commander of Armed Forces Taken Hostage

According to the report of state-run Anadolu Agency, Commander of the Turkish Armed Forces General Hulusi Akar has been taken hostage by a group of soldiers who have attempted a military interference.

Minister of National Defence Fikri Işık has noted regarding the issue; “This is an interference attempt of a junta within the Turkish Military Forces. There are news that Commander of the Armed Forces General Akar has been taken hostage in the headquarters. (NV)
