Russia Rejects Claims of Bombing Hospital

Kremlin has rejected claims by Turkey of having shot hospitals in Syria.

Kremlin Spokesperson Dimitry Peskov over being asked about the accusations by Ankara, has noted; “We do not accept these accusations. Those who are claiming this, can not present any evidence to prove these unfounded accusations”.

Noting that there was a deep crisis between his country and Turkey, Peskov has noted that it was not Russia which had caused the crisis.

Claims that the warplanes departed from İncirlik

According to the report of Sputnik News, Igor Morozov from Russian Federation Committee for Foreign Affairs has also alleged that the Hospital under administration of Doctors Without Borders and the Children’s Hospital targeted in İdlib had been hit by warplanes which had departed from the US base in İncirlik.

At least 50 persons had lost their lives in the attacks hitting five hospitals and two schools in Azaz  and İdlib on Monday (January 15)

Allegations, reactions

Turkey had categorized the attacks as war crime and held Russia accountable for the attacks.

French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Marc Ayrault has also condemned the attacks and has noted “Targeting health facilities constitutes a war crime”.  

United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki Moon had noted that five hospitals and two schools had suffered damages and pointed out that the attacks had been an open breach of international law. (YY/DG)
