AKP Dicle District Chair Aktert Killed

Justice and Development Party (AKP) Dicle District Chairperson Deryan Aktert was killed in an armed attack by members of Kurdistan Workers’ Party yesterday (October 10).

State-run Anadolu Agency (AA) and Doğan News Agency (DHA) reported that the attack was carried out by members of the PKK. Diyarbakır Governorship in its statement said that the armed assaulters were considered to be members of a separatist terrorist organization.

AKP Diyarbakır Deputy Ebubekir Bal talking to DHA has stated, that Akter’s office had also been attacked before.

According to the report of AA, a group of seven or eight people had opened fire on Aktert  who was at a gas station owned by him in 27 Mayıs neighbourhood on Hani district road, outside of the center of the district. Aktert lost his live in the hospital he was brought to. (AS/DG)
