Musician Zülfü Livaneli, who founded the Turkish-Greek Friendship Association with Theodorakis in 1986, reflects on the passing away of "Zorba the Greek."

Eight politicians and intellectuals, namely Ahmet Türk, Celal Doğan, Kezban Hatemi, Nesrin Nas, Oya Baydar, Rıza Türmen, Tarhan Erdem and Zülfü Livaneli, have called on the Parliament and political parties to take action to eliminate inequality.

Artist Zülfü Livaneli has penned an open letter addressing UNESCO and expressed his concerns over the destruction of trees in Ida Mountains for a gold mine. “They will destroy this beautiful paradise”, Livaneli has warned.

Zülfü Livaneli has resigned from his duty of goodwill ambassadorship which he was carrying out since 1996 in the UN UNESCO.
